Noiseless Blackboard Eraser (1974)
Felt blackboard eraser, yellow label. Felt and wooden multiple. Signed by Beuys in felt pen in Sutterlin (prewar German) script; numbered in felt pen by another hand. 5 x 20.2 x 2.5 cm.
Edition of 550, plus 6 hors commerce. Beuys had the idea for this edition at a political lecture he held during his first trip to the United States. When collectors wanted to purchase a blackboard he had drawn and written on, Beuys had it erased with this type of blackboard eraser. Edition 91/550.

Truism and Survival Rubber Stamps (1991)
A multiple of Holzer’s ‘Truisms’, which take advantage of the traditional rubber stamp format. Packaged in brown box on a bed of shredded tissue. The stamps have a natural wood base, with each “Truism” printed on top in black ink.
The Truisms:
– Any Surplus is Immoral
– Confusing Yourself is A Way to Stay Honest
– Money Creates Taste
– Much Was Decided Before You Were Born
– Words Tend To Be Inadequate
– Lack of Charisma Can Be Fatal

Open Carefully (2000)
Published on the occasion of the exhibition Two With Any To. Designed, assembled and painted by the artist. This object blurs the boundary between the book, the catalogue and the multiple. It consists of a hand painted plastic container which is suggestive of a clam shell shape. There are two compartments within this oval: one holds five painted stones; the other contains a small booklet of thumbnail images of recent sculptures. Is completed by a fan made out of five printed paper strands, that connect the booklet to the outside of the container. Edition of 1000 signed and numbered on multiple. Edition # 541/k.
