My print work is a physical and material exploration into thinking…thinking through a evolving print vocabulary. This is pivotal within my practice—I do not go to the print room with the intention of making a reproduction of a prescribed image from a matrix—rather, I go to the print room to begin a series of thoughts based on ‘pieces gathered’. The prints are derived by the process of making, by drawing on available ingredients that contribute to a sequence of what I call ‘printable events’. Within these interactions, one may achieve the unexpected—sometimes beautiful, sometimes clunky—that prioritise the material experience over language and the figurative.
